What are you going to do?
This vacancy is within our Software Team team, a group of four experienced C++/Qt5 Software Engineers. The team as a whole is responsible for designing, developing, and verifying all software components of the aircraft, ground, and support systems.
Within the team, you will be focusing on the Ground Control Station (GCS), the virtual cockpit designed to control, visualise, and monitor the overall system operation. You will work closely with the flight operations team, pilots and ground crew, to iterate on the specification and the development of the software.
What do we need from you to complement the team?
We value passion over university degrees and consider self-education and continuous learning to be key aspects in the ever evolving field of software engineering. Therefore we do not strictly ask for a degree in engineering. You have at least 3 years of experience in:
- The C++ programming language
- The Qt5 framework and QML interface language;
- Designing and implementing rich user interfaces;
- Software development on Linux.
As you will be part of an international team, you are also proficient in English. Besides this, you:
- Work efficiently in a team and support your colleagues;
- Are able to proactively pick up tasks and take ownership in your work;
- Like to learn new skills when it is required;
- Adhere to processes and contribute to their continuous improvement;
- Report in a precise and concise manner, and are good at writing technical documentation.

- het testen van het uiteindelijke systeem (zo'n 4 keer per jaar zelfs mee naar het buitenland voor het in bedrijf stellen!);
- het uitvoeren van analyses om tot een klantgerichte oplossing te komen;
- het programmeren van PLC's;

- het blijven zoeken naar innovaties binnen de capaciteiten van de software.

Wat ga jij doen als Software Engineer / Besturingstechnicus?
Als Software Engineer zal je je gaan richten op het ontwerpen, programmeren en besturingsmatiging inbedrijfstellen van de machines. Jij moet ervoor gaan zorgen dat de machines tot leven komen. Hiervoor draag je zorg voor de juiste instelling van de machines en voert test- verbeterprogramma's uit. Je bent betrokken bij de machine tot aan de aflevering van de (internationale) klant. Reizen is daarom ook een belangrijk onderdeel van de functie. Momenteel bestaat het team uit 10 Software Engineers en zoeken wij de juiste kandidaten om dit team te versterken. Verder zal je te maken krijgen de volgende werkzaamheden:
- het opstellen van besturingssoftware;
- het verrichten van een systeemanalyse om verschillende oplossingsmogelijkheden te onderzoeken;
- testen van de besturingssoftware en zo nodig op locatie assisteren bij de inbedrijfstelling;
- verder ontwikkelen van de software;
- bestuderen, analyseren en interpreteren van de met de klant overeengekomen functionele specificatie en dit vertalen naar een werkingsconcept (dit doe je in samenwerking met engineers van verschillende disciplines).
Jouw profiel
Wat vragen wij van jou?
Allereerst heb je een praktische, analytische en oplossingsgerichte instelling. Om in aanmerking te komen voor de positie van Software Engineer vragen wij verder het volgende van jou:
- je hebt een HBO of WO opleiding in de richting van Elektrotechniek, Industriële Automatisering of Besturingstechniek;
- als je al ervaring hebt in een vergelijkbare functie is dat een pré;
- kennis en ervaring van het programmeren van PLC/IPC systemen;
- ervaring met Allen Bradley (Rockwell) en/of Beckhoff is een pré;

What are you going to do?
