UtrechtWe are looking for a Research Assistant for the Deep Transitions Futures Research Project. This project examines the concept of 'Deep Transitions': the coordinated change of many socio-technical systems in the same direction, over a period of time, which result in large-scale social, ecological and economic impact, transforming the nature of world societies. These connected transitions interrelate and interdepend to inform a series of rules and meta-rules shared amongst different socio-technical systems that in turn provide the backbone of contemporary societies. The theoretical framework underpinning the Deep Transitions concept is founded predominantly in two literatures that have attempted to explain large-scale and long-term socio-technical change: the Multilevel Perspective (MLP), and the Techno-economic Paradigm (TEP) framework. A series of transitions can be defined as one "Deep Transition" when they meet three criteria: (1) That the related transitions change an already established and embedded set of met-rules within existing socio-technical systems (2) That the changing of these meta-rules inform a new phase in the history of industrialisation, modernity or industrial consumption (3) That the transitions and shift to a new phase is a gradual process taking longer than a century.

The project is a collaboration between the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) of the University of Sussex and the Utrecht University Centre for Global Challenges (UGLOBE). The first phase of work was carried out in the Deep Transitions History Research Project (2018-2020). The Deep Transition Futures Research Project (start date: September 2020) is the second phase of work. It focuses on developing socio-technical scenarios for the Second Deep Transition as it may unfold over the coming decades. The project team identified the financial sector as a critical player in the unfolding of the Second Deep Transition. The project thus seeks to deploy a specific theory of change in futures work with a Global Panel of Investors. This panel will bring together public and private investors from across the globe. By means of discussing state-of-the-art scenarios of future development, their implications for public and private investment decisions will be assessed, and a new investment philosophy for transformation enabling a Second Deep Transition will be developed.
The research assistant will support the research team with the preparation, execution, and follow-ups of the panel work. Activities include conducting desk research and literature reviews on topics related to the Deep Transitions Panel Work (e.g. sustainable finance, multi-scalarity, socio-technical systems, megatrends, critical junctures, impact cascades) collecting and logging research data during the panel meetings, transcribing interviews and meeting recordings, supporting the writing of panel reports and other supporting research reports, and conducting follow-up research based on the outcomes of the panel sessions. In addition, the research assistant will support the project manager with data management (managing the shared repository of literature and primary sources, shared document archives), proofreading and formatting documents, and the overall administration of the project.

Voor deze functie zijn wij op zoek naar een communicatief sterke en accurate teamspeler, die energie krijgt van het bedenken en uitvoeren van marketing campagnes en het beheren van de content op onze online en offline kanalen. Jij zult werkzaam zijn voor twee bedrijven welke gevestigd zijn op hetzelfde adres in Huizen, Noord-Holland. Voor de bedrijven Leijenaar en Dekapack zal jij verantwoordelijk zijn voor de creatie en het beheren van de online en offline communicatie. Je werkt in een klein team van tien collega’s, waardoor je zowel strategisch als uitvoerend werkzaam zal zijn. Zelfstandigheid en eigen initiatief tonen is daarom van groot belang in deze functie. De gehele marketing en communicatie zal onder jouw verantwoordelijkheid vallen. Het wordt jouw taak om deze op te zetten en verder uit te bouwen. Je beschikt daarom over de nodige ervaring. Je weet een goede boodschap te creëren en via de juiste kanalen de doelgroep te bereiken. Hierna ben jij instaat om de behaalde resultaten te rapporteren door bijvoorbeeld het bereik en de conversieratio aan te tonen en zo te onderzoeken of de voor afgestelde doelen zijn behaald. Het zal jouw doel zijn om de naamsbekendheid van beide bedrijven te vergroten en zo nieuwe leads te genereren. Daarnaast zal jij je bezig houden om de klantwaarde te verhogen. In samenwerking met het management wordt onderzocht waar wij onze relaties nog beter in kunnen bedienen en wordt het jouw taak om dit op de juiste manier onder de aandacht te brengen.
Hiernaast wordt het jouw taak om de bestaande content up-to-date te houden. Verder signaleer jij proactief waar de content verbeterd moet worden, waarna je met een plan komt om deze zelfstandig aan te passen. Ook de nieuwe content, bijvoorbeeld nieuw toegevoegde producten op de website, zal jij verrijken met alle juiste productinformatie en beeldmateriaal.
Als laatste zal jij je in het eerste jaar actief bezig houden met de ontwikkeling en implementatie van ons nieuwe PIM (product information management) systeem en de nieuwe webshop. Bij dit project zal jij een belangrijke uitvoerende rol spelen en de helpende hand zijn voor de projectleider. Je zal aanschuiven bij de gesprekken met eventuele partners en met een actieve rol bijdragen aan het succes van dit project.

Het kan bijna niet anders dan dat je wel eens iets in je handen hebt gehad dat door een machine van Dekapack in folie verpakt is. Zo wordt de kleding die jij online besteld door onze machines verpakt. Tegelijkertijd is het goed mogelijk dat de groente en fruit in de supermarkt of jouw luchtje van de drogisterij door deze machines zijn verpakt. Dekapack is een verkoop- en service georiënteerde organisatie. Kwaliteit en klantgerichtheid zijn bepalend voor ons succes. Wij zijn een kleine organisatie waarin als team samen gewerkt wordt.

In deze functie
In deze functiegeef je leiding aan de afdeling DigitaIe Infrastructuur (DI). De afdeling DI ondersteunt en ontwikkelt digitale infrastructuur voor de drie onderzoeksinstituten waaruit het KNAW Humanities Cluster (HuC) bestaat. Dit doet DIop basis van vragen uit de onderzoeks-, datamanagement- en collectieafdelingen van die instituten. DIondersteunt hiermee direct het primaire proces van de onderzoeksinstituten van het HuC. (Kantoorautomatisering is elders belegd.)Door de grote rol van de digitale component in het onderzoek van het HuC sta je aan het roer van een omvangrijke afdeling(26,8 fte) die werktop het snijvlak van IT, wetenschappelijk onderzoek, en data en resources. De groep werkt daarbij nauw samen met nationale en internationale partners.
Je bent als directeur DI verantwoordelijk voor
- Je bent verantwoordelijk voor en draagt bij aan de strategische ontwikkeling en beleidsplannen van de afdeling en de implementatie daarvan.
- Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de inrichting en organisatorische en personele aansturing van de afdeling en draagt zo bij aan de realisatie van de doelstellingen van het Humanities Cluster.
- Je zorgt voor een veilig werkklimaat en je voelt je verantwoordelijk voor het werkplezier van de medewerkers van de afdeling.
- Je stelt samen met de afdeling Financiën & Control de (investerings)begroting op en bewaakt deze. Je ziet toe op de kwaliteit van diensten en producten van DI en je hebt oog voor technologische ontwikkelingen.
- Je draagt bij aan het versnellen en faciliteren van innovatie om zo het onderzoek te ondersteunen.
- Je bent medeverantwoordelijk voor acquisitie van externe funding voor digitale infrastructuur,
en je bent eindverantwoordelijk voor de DI-component in projectaanvragen van HuC-onderzoekers. - En als laatste draag je zorg voor verbinding en afstemming met de ICT-afdeling van de KNAW voor wat betreft digitale infrastructuur.

Je maakt deel uit van het directieoverleg van het HuC, dat verder bestaat uit de drie instituutsdirecteuren en de directeur bedrijfsvoering. Samen met de leden van het directieoverleg bepaal je de koers van het HuC, en zorg je voor een goede samenwerking van DI met de andere HuC-onderdelen.De afdeling DI is naast het Bedrijfsbureau en de onderszoekslabs NL-Lab en DHLab een van de vier gedeelde onderdelen van het HuC. Je stuurt een veelzijdige afdelingvan 30medewerkersaan, waarin analytische vaardigheden en oplossingsgericht denken even belangrijk zijn als creativiteit. Om in deze functie te floreren
- Ben je in staat om strategisch, analytisch en op het juiste abstractieniveau te denken en te handelen.
- Ben je minimaal 3 jaar werkzaam geweest in een leidinggevende managementfunctie, bij voorkeur in een wetenschappelijke organisatie.
- Weet je wat het is om te werken in een bestuurlijk complexe omgeving.

In ruil daarvoor bieden wij
De aanstelling bij de KNAW is in eerste instantie een tijdelijke aanstelling met uitzicht op een vast dienstverband. Het salaris bedraagt afhankelijk van relevante werkervaring minimaal € 5.453,- en maximaal € 6.940,- (schaal 14 CAO-Nederlandse Universiteiten) bij een 38-urige werkweek.
De KNAW biedt verder aantrekkelijke secundaire arbeidsvoorwaarden, zoals 8,3 % eindejaarsuitkering, 8% vakantie-uitkering, een goede pensioenregeling, 6 weken vakantie op jaarbasis en de mogelijkheid om verlofdagen te kopen/verkopen. Een flexibele invulling van de werktijden behoort tot de mogelijkheden (uiteraard wanneer de werkzaamheden dat toelaten).
Waarom werken bij het KNAW Humanities Cluster?
Het KNAW Humanities Cluster (HuC) is een samenwerkingsverband van drie instituten van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW) waarin geesteswetenschappelijk onderzoek (geschiedenis, etnologie, letterkunde, taalkunde) wordt verricht met toepassing van geavanceerde methoden, waarbij informatica een belangrijke rol speelt. Het betreft het Huygens Instituut voor Nederlandse Geschiedenis, het Internationaal Instituut voor Sociale Geschiedenis en het Meertens Instituut. De grote rol van onderzoek met een digitale component is een belangrijke reden voor de samenwerking van de drie instituten in het HuCmetDigitale Infrastructuur.

De afdeling Operations bewaakt en realiseert een 100% werking van de technische installaties en infrastructuur van de Dataplace datacenters die over Nederland zijn verspreid. Ons Operations team fungeert als de handen en ogen van onze klanten en speelt snel in op hun behoeften. Onze klanten vertrouwen erop dat wij 24/7 betrouwbare datacenter- en netwerkdiensten bieden. Het draait allemaal om inzicht in elektrotechnische installaties, koelsystemen en databekabeling, nauwgezet werken en het behoud van onze klanttevredenheid.
Wat houdt de functie in?
We zoeken iemand die van alle markten thuis is, een echte ‘manusje van alles’. Jij wordt de oren en ogen van Dataplace en houdt van veel variatie in je dagelijkse werk. In deze functie ben je medeverantwoordelijk voor een optimale werking van onze datacenters. Daarnaast werk je aan een 100% uptime en ben je het aanspreekpunt voor klanten. Je draagt de zorg voor, en handelt projecten af ten behoeve van klantopleveringen binnen de gestelde tijd en norm. Je zorgt ervoor dat onze datacenters er netjes en verzorgt bij staat door controle rondes te lopen en schoonmaakwerkzaamheden uit te voeren.
Het speelveld van contacten bevindt zich zowel binnen als buiten de eigen afdeling en organisatie. Je werkt in wisselend teamverband samen met diverse afdelingen binnen Dataplace, leveranciers en klanten. Je streeft de doelstellingen van Dataplace na. Je kent en werkt volgens onze kwaliteits- en informatiebeveiligingsprocessen (onder meer ISO) en bewaakt deze door afwijkingen te melden. Je behaalt en onderhoudt de voor je werkgebied benodigde certificeringen. In deze functie draai je mee in het consignatiedienst rooster. Daarbij kun je ook bij complexe of langdurende storingen, gedurende de uren buiten kantoortijd opgeschakeld worden. De werkzaamheden vinden plaats op al onze datacenter locaties. Je rapporteert aan de Manager Operations.
Een kleine greep uit het diverse takenpakket:
- Installeren en aanleggen van glasvezel- & koperverbindingen;
- Onderhouden, monteren en patchen van UTP, glasvezel- & koperverbindingen;
- Plaatsen van 19” racks en die voorzien van PDU’s;
- Uitvoeren van elektrotechnische werkzaamheden, zoals het bekabelen, testen en plaatsen;
- Onderzoeken en verhelpen van eventuele storingen;
- Installeren van netwerk- & serverapparatuur;
- 24/7 storingsdiensten;
- Kennis van en werkzaam volgens onze kwaliteits- en informatiebeveiligingsprocessen (onder meer ISO). Je bewaakt deze door afwijkingen te melden.
Wij vragen:
Je bent een energieke, gedreven en zelfstandige persoonlijkheid. Daarbij functioneer je als een echte teamspeler. Je beschikt over een afgeronde elektrotechnisch opleiding, hebt ervaring in een soortgelijke rol en ruime kennis en ervaring met UTP (Cat 5 t/m 7), koper en glasvezel.

Als research analist ben je verantwoordelijk voor het maken van constructen en cellijnen voor de productie van specifieke antilichamen, bij een research & development lokatie van een innovatieve internationale speler binnen de biofarmaceutische industrie.
Functieomschrijving
Als jij wil werken bij een research organisatie, die unieke en hypermoderne therapieen en medicijnen ontwikkelt tegen onder andere kanker, dan ben je bij deze vacature op de juiste plek. Voor een internationaal bedrijf in de biotechnologische sector zoeken wij kandidaten die als Celkweek Technician gaan werken, in een farmaceutisch productieproces waar biologische geneesmiddelen worden gemaakt. Met jouw kennis van celkweek (mammalian, humaan, bacterien, fagen, virussen, etc.) ben jij een echte aanwinst voor dit team van jonge en enthousiaste collega's. Jij zorgt ervoor dat nieuwe cellijnen worden ontwikkeld. Ook gebruik je zelf celkweek op labschaal, maar ook celkweek op grotere schaal in bioreactoren en met andere technieken, om de aanvoer van cellen, en de voorraad van de cellbanks op peil te houden. Samen met een team van hardwerkende en eensgezinde collega laboranten zorg jij ervoor dat alle ingrediënten worden verwerkt in een Upstream Process (USP) tot een eindproduct, allemaal onder strikte GMP richtlijnen op een state-of-the-art laboratorium.

- Hands-on werken met celkweek, USP, rollerbottles, bioreactoren,

Als laborant ondersteun je het team dat chemische analyses uitvoert op verschillende samples die vanuit andere bedrijven worden opgestuurd. We are looking for a Research Assistant for the Deep Transitions Futures Research Project. This project examines the concept of 'Deep Transitions': the coordinated change of many socio-technical systems in the same direction, over a period of time, which result in large-scale social, ecological and economic impact, transforming the nature of world societies. These connected transitions interrelate and interdepend to inform a series of rules and meta-rules shared amongst different socio-technical systems that in turn provide the backbone of contemporary societies. The theoretical framework underpinning the Deep Transitions concept is founded predominantly in two literatures that have attempted to explain large-scale and long-term socio-technical change: the Multilevel Perspective (MLP), and the Techno-economic Paradigm (TEP) framework. A series of transitions can be defined as one "Deep Transition" when they meet three criteria: (1) That the related transitions change an already established and embedded set of met-rules within existing socio-technical systems (2) That the changing of these meta-rules inform a new phase in the history of industrialisation, modernity or industrial consumption (3) That the transitions and shift to a new phase is a gradual process taking longer than a century.

The Deep Transition Futures Research Project (start date: September 2020) is the second phase of work. It focuses on developing socio-technical scenarios for the Second Deep Transition as it may unfold over the coming decades. The project team identified the financial sector as a critical player in the unfolding of the Second Deep Transition. The project thus seeks to deploy a specific theory of change in futures work with a Global Panel of Investors. This panel will bring together public and private investors from across the globe. By means of discussing state-of-the-art scenarios of future development, their implications for public and private investment decisions will be assessed, and a new investment philosophy for transformation enabling a Second Deep Transition will be developed.
The research assistant will support the research team with the preparation, execution, and follow-ups of the panel work. Activities include conducting desk research and literature reviews on topics related to the Deep Transitions Panel Work (e.g. sustainable finance, multi-scalarity, socio-technical systems, megatrends, critical junctures, impact cascades) collecting and logging research data during the panel meetings, transcribing interviews and meeting recordings, supporting the writing of panel reports and other supporting research reports, and conducting follow-up research based on the outcomes of the panel sessions. In addition, the research assistant will support the project manager with data management (managing the shared repository of literature and primary sources, shared document archives), proofreading and formatting documents, and the overall administration of the project.
