What are you going to do?

You will collect and analyse data from customers and colleagues on service requirements and reoccurring problems, in order to initiate and implement structural solutions and improvements into our coating systems. For this you will also use the data out of our ERP system (Exact) and report to the engineering departments. Also you will participate in new design/platform projects and the Life Cycle Management team. Goal is to enable optimal support on maintenance and troubleshooting of our coating systems and to further improve the overall excellence of our service including after sales offers we can make our customers. You will aim for optimal customer satisfaction in terms of quality, costs and planning, leading to repeat orders. Also you will analyse and improve the current way of working of CS and the cooperation with the other departments. For this you will act as a mentor towards your CS colleagues and as intermediate towards the other departments. You will help to improve the speed and efficiency of solving customer problems by CS, with less involvement of the engineering departments. You will be part of the CS department in Venlo with 8 direct colleagues and report to the Manager CS.

What do we ask?

• A technical bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Software, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering or similar;
• Very good understanding of mechanics and electronics and an even better understanding of software (PLC/HMI);
• At least 5 years work experience in a similar role within the international machine building industry, including defining service requirements and deliverables;
• Ability to lead projects;
• Strong need to structural improve processes via Lean methods (VSM, 8D problem solving, PDCA);
• Knowledge of MS Office, ERP and PLM systems and ability to read technical drawings;
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language and preferably of the German language, verbally and in writing;
• Willingness to travel worldwide for at least ±20% of your time;
• You are flexible, communicative, independent and a persistent go-getter;

In this function, you are responsible for the engineering of biogas upgrading systems. You lead a team of (Lead) Project Engineer and perform the role as Lead Engineer. You are responsible for the talent management and capacity and quality of you team. You coordinate the engineering phase of projects, ensure timely hand over too and the progress of downstream and external engineering departments and perform engineering tasks. You work closely with the other departments (Project Management, Technology, CAD, Automation, Production and Supply Chain) to ensure we develop a safe design of high quality within the project schedule and on budget. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for a team of Lead Project Engineers and Project Engineers.

• Responsible for the technical review of offers in the sales phase, estimation of hours and project timeline of the engineering phase.

• Responsible for the technical coordination in the engineering phase between project leader, customer, engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers and assembly.

• Responsible for the project hours, project plan and the execution of engineering activities of the engineering phase

• Work with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of information to complete the engineering

• Handover to downstream engineering departments and support them to complete the mechanical, electrical and software design.

• Approval and handover of mechanical designs to assembly

• Approval of supplier designs (e.g. refrigeration units, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers)

• Create process and instrumentation diagrams, BOM, line and pressure equipment classification 

• Perform design calculations (e.g. example line, safety valve, heat exchanger and separator sizing).

• Component specifications, selection and creation (e.g. valves, heat exchangers, pumps, vessels)

• Perform risk assessments, create project manuals and documentation

• Perform other duties as required
