For the Postdoc position in cancer metabolism, we are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative team player. The position is available in the division of Cell Biology, Metabolism & Cancer in the Department of Biomolecular Health Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University. The overall aim of the research project is to identify and target cancer-specific metabolic events. Cancer cells modify their metabolism and it is unknown which metabolic pathways are critical drivers of cancer progression and uncontrolled cell divisions. The project will involve cell cycle specific fluorescent imaging, cell sorting and mass spectrometry to identify metabolic events and target them by utilizing available inhibitors, RNA interference, or CRISPR-Cas9 technology. In addition, novel dissecting methodology will be developed to discover metabolic events in areas of cancerization in biopsies.   

You will work in a multidisciplinary team of Researchers with unique expertise including Dr Bart Westendorp (cell cycle), Prof Celia Berkers (metabolomics), Prof Bernd Helms (lipidomics), and Prof Alain de Bruin (cancer). The research environment you will work in is inspiring and you are surrounded by innovative research labs and will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities including mass-spectrometry, single cell analysis, imaging, flowcytometry and biobanks with patient materials, localized at the Utrecht Science Campus in the Netherlands.

In this role you are responsible for:
  • the design and the realization of the research project cancer metabolism;
  • contribution to research projects of our team;

Het eerste aanspreekpunt op de bouwplaats; dat ben jij als Uitvoerder bouw. Voor je opdrachtgever, de eindklant, jouw collega’s én de onderaannemers. Dankzij jou weet iedereen wat er moet gebeuren. En vooral ook wanneer en hoe. Jouw missie? Zorgen dat alle activiteiten op de bouwplaats goed, veilig en volgens planning verlopen.

Dit pak jij professioneel aan door:

  • leiding te geven aan en toezicht te houden op de bouwwerkzaamheden.
  • te toetsen of het geleverde werk voldoet aan de bedrijfsprocedures, kwaliteits-, veiligheids- en duurzaamheidsnormen.

Job Description

Working at our Global Headquarters in Utrecht, as the Quality Specialist, you will be part of the R&DO Consumer, Quality and Technology department. Within this department the Conversion Quality team plays a critical role in developing and implementing quality standards and improvement ideas to assure 100% right first time for the consumer with maximum efficiency.
In your role as Quality Specialist you will be responsible for: 

  • The development and implementation of quality & food safety standards for the JDE Global internal and external manufacturing network
  • Setting the quality standards and training others as part of the JDE Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Program and leading some Quality Pillar activities
  • Benchmarking plant performance with regards to quality deliverables and proactively identifying areas for improvement will be a crucial part of your role
  • Participating in key New Product Development projects and agree quality success criteria linked to compliance, food safety, consumer and customer drivers
  • Interacting across the supply chain, internal and external to JDE and will need to collaborate and influence key stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Building robust relationships with all relevant business partners inside and outside R&D, including Operations, Marketing Sales and Procurement
  • Traveling between various manufacturing locations for 30 to 40% of the time

  • A driving license is definitely preferred to get to some of our factory locations
