What are you going to do?
This vacancy is within our Software Team team, a group of four experienced C++/Qt5 Software Engineers. The team as a whole is responsible for designing, developing, and verifying all software components of the aircraft, ground, and support systems.
Within the team, you will be focusing on the Ground Control Station (GCS), the virtual cockpit designed to control, visualise, and monitor the overall system operation. You will work closely with the flight operations team, pilots and ground crew, to iterate on the specification and the development of the software.
What do we need from you to complement the team?
We value passion over university degrees and consider self-education and continuous learning to be key aspects in the ever evolving field of software engineering. Therefore we do not strictly ask for a degree in engineering. You have at least 3 years of experience in:
- The C++ programming language
- The Qt5 framework and QML interface language;
- Designing and implementing rich user interfaces;
- Software development on Linux.
As you will be part of an international team, you are also proficient in English. Besides this, you:
- Work efficiently in a team and support your colleagues;
- Are able to proactively pick up tasks and take ownership in your work;

What is your new job?
As Senior Automation Engineer (Team Lead) at Airborne Composites Automation (ACA) you are responsible for the controls and automation systems of our new and innovative solutions for the composites industry. You are a seasoned engineer who brings technical expertise, leadership, and best practices to strengthen our automation team.
In this role you are the automation expert and a source of information of industrial control systems for the business unit. You will be leading, developing, motivating, and coaching the automation team. In this pivotal function you ensure that all technical communication with the parties involved (such as: customers, suppliers, project leaders, engineers, and technicians) runs smoothly. You are able to define the customer's technical requirements and issue both technical and functional specifications. You will support the project manager with defining work packages, planning, and organising all technical activities. Furthermore you support business development in the quotation phase.
You are up to date with the latest in-depth technical knowledge, and act as a technical source of information for engineers, management, and business development.
You (and your team) are responsible for:
- Understanding requirements on user interfaces, communication interfaces. And creating specifications based on these requirements.
- Designing, developing, and programming PLC control systems and safety systems.
- Integrating third party hardware.
- Controlling and programming industrial robots.
- Ensuring that the developed automated solutions operate safely, robustly, and reliably.

Education

Functieomschrijving

Je geeft sturing aan de BIM Modelleur W, begeleidt collega-Engineers en hebt wekelijkse meetings met E&W Engineers om kennis en ervaring te delen.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Lead Engineer applies an advanced knowledge of engineering fundamentals to the division’s engineering and design activities and provides work leadership to lower level employees. The Lead Engineer interacts with all OASYS departments as necessary to provide engineering support to projects, integration, and test activities.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
Defining and controlling mechanical design standards for Automatic Guided Vehicle Systems
Controlling (Solidworks) engineering project drawing structures from release- retractions-redlines while ensuring configuration standards are maintained at all times
You technically lead mechanical engineers in the daily execution of project based automated guided vehicle engineering
You observe project planning commitments and provide timely feedback in regular project team meetings
You ensure implementation of agreed engineering procedures and assist in optimizing processes with a view to increasing project volumes
You take responsibility for defining mechanical concept engineering, concurrent with highly qualified lead mechanical and electrical engineers
You take a holistic view of project vehicle engineering with interchangeability and compatibility driving project growth
You support the assembly, testing and commissioning teams with mechanical issues and provide solutions
You foster strong working relationships with the linking disciplines such as logistics, production, assembly and project commissioning.
You cultivate and promote our corporate values – integrity, collaboration, courage, excellence
Estimate resource requirements to meet technical and scheduling objectives.
Analyze and develop design approaches for complex engineering projects.
Develop and apply advanced engineering design methods, theories, and research techniques within related technical fields.
Provide technical consultation to other organizations.
Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

Reports to OASYS Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Master’s degree or comparable training, preferably with a technical engineering focus
Approximately ten years of relevant experience within Automation Industry, (Automated) Material Handling Solutions, Machinery & Industrial Engineering or related mechanical industries
You have knowledge of SolidWorks and its EPDM system
Team player with a high level of communication skills
Ability to operate in an international team and to perform in a global matrix organization
Strong technical writing skills.
Excellent analytical skills for preparing and reviewing technical and project reports.
Advanced knowledge and practical application of related engineering principles.

What are you going to do?
This vacancy is within our Software Team team, a group of four experienced C++/Qt5 Software Engineers. The team as a whole is responsible for designing, developing, and verifying all software components of the aircraft, ground, and support systems.
Within the team, you will be focusing on the Ground Control Station (GCS), the virtual cockpit designed to control, visualise, and monitor the overall system operation. You will work closely with the flight operations team, pilots and ground crew, to iterate on the specification and the development of the software.
What do we need from you to complement the team?
We value passion over university degrees and consider self-education and continuous learning to be key aspects in the ever evolving field of software engineering. Therefore we do not strictly ask for a degree in engineering. You have at least 3 years of experience in:
- The C++ programming language
- The Qt5 framework and QML interface language;
- Designing and implementing rich user interfaces;
- Software development on Linux.
As you will be part of an international team, you are also proficient in English. Besides this, you:
- Work efficiently in a team and support your colleagues;
- Are able to proactively pick up tasks and take ownership in your work;
- Like to learn new skills when it is required;
- Adhere to processes and contribute to their continuous improvement;
- Report in a precise and concise manner, and are good at writing technical documentation.
